About Us
The Wise Review is an annual online literary journal launched in 2017 by the Creative Writing course at Hancock Middle Senior High School in Hancock, Maryland. The school sponsors the journal as well as an annual short story contest for middle and high school students. The journal accepts submissions from both young adults and more experienced writers to be published in the Wise Review.
We are looking to publish flash fiction, flash nonfiction, and general fiction from emerging and established writers. We are also interested in showcasing visual art.
Masthead
Our staff is comprised of creative writing students. Eric Smith, our managing editor and class pet, accompanies the staff in our endeavors. Our journal name is inspired by Hancock’s fun and super cool science teacher, Carl Wise, who also serves as celebrity judge for our annual writing contest.
