General Guidelines:

We accept works of fiction, flash fiction, flash nonfiction, as well as artwork.

We will NOT consider pieces with the following:

  • Excessive profanity

  • Overt sexual references

  • Extreme violence

All submissions should be sent through our submittable page. We ask that you please include a cover letter highlighting publishing credits and other relevant stuff. Don’t bother with a synopsis of your story because we won’t bother to read it. We take a special interest in showcasing work by students and previously unpublished writers and artists, so please let us know if you fall under these categories. We welcome both unpublished works as well as reprints.

General Fiction:

Thou shalt submit fiction greater than 1000 words. Thou shalt limit fiction to 5000 words. 5000 shall be the number thou shalt limit, and the limiting number shall be 5000. Once the number 5000, being the 5000th number, be reached, please stop typing. This section is for writers who feel that more words, not better words, make the better story.

Flash Fiction:

We are far less dogmatic about short fiction. Send us something funny or dramatic, something that takes place in the real world or somewhere fantastical. Any sub-genre will do as long as it makes us think or feel. Show us characters who seem real and places we’ve never seen. Three flash pieces can be submitted in one document. If you surpass 1000 words, consider submitting to general fiction instead.

Flash Nonfiction:

We’re looking for stories from your life. We prefer to laugh rather than cry, so send us something that’s funny, weird or bizarre. Flash nonfiction should be less than 1,000 words but we aren’t sticklers. Three flash nonfiction pieces can be submitted in one document.

Artwork:

Send up to three images as either .jpg, .gif, or .png format. They should be sent in the largest size and highest resolution available.
